Radcliffe Carnival 2022
Huge thank you for the float and terrific outfits. A special thanks to Gwyn who organised the carnival, both float and cake stall, and made sure that on this great occasion the Methodist Church was well represented.
The cakes went well – like hot cakes on a very hot day! And the float was astonishing – big thank you to Chris and Geoff for the 3D animals and giraffe and elephants that nodded as they went along.
Big thanks to two wheelchair users as lions and a baboon at front of procession – yes – you wouldn’t recognise them as Betty and Nan and Nan’s neighbour Lesley who were utterly magnificent.
A big thanks to Laura for being a very convincing lion with huge main and for face painting everyone so convincingly. And thank you Little Angels you were terrific and everyone loved seeing you!
All in all it was marvellous with Lisa as a zebra – though it was a hot dressing gown – she looked terrific and Stuart and dogs walking in the heat too and numerous church folk walking behind and the minister in front seat of minibus waving behind a child’s lion mask but still recognisable and Mark driving calmly and sensibly all the way in the procession.
It was TERRIFIC! and WE WON FIRST PRIZE AGAIN!!!!!! Thanks to everyone who took part including the art group with Rod who painted the animal designs for the float and everyone who cheered us on! What a great occasion! Well done to you all! Here’s to next year’s and another great adventure! I hope you enjoy the photos of the Carnival!
