Memory Cafe
Well done all who walked, ran and cycled from the singing group in aid of the four local Memory Cafes. It was a terrific turn out, bright and early last Saturday at 8:30 am, starting from Radcliffe Methodist Church where Gillian and Maria had set out lovely cakes together with Jane James and Jon to welcome loads of fit and energetic looking people.
And incredibly the marathon sponsored cycle / run raised over £5,600 in aid of the four memory cafes. That’s an incredible help to the cafes. We are profoundly grateful for all that Gillian does with Maria and a vast team of helpers from church and elsewhere each month as they open up on a Tuesday to welcome those with a dementia diagnosis for games, quizzes, creative crafts, dancing, music and great food. It helps the person with dementia and it really helps those caring for them to have that little break and know they will be well looked after for two hours. Praise God for them and may many more such cafes open up!
